What is a Base Curve? The Base Curve (BC) is the radius of curvature of the back surface of a contact lens. It represents the “curvature” of the lens to match the natural shape of the cornea of your eye. Why is it important? Too tight (small base radius): If the base radius is smaller than your eye, the lens will be tight against the cornea, creating a pressure sensation and even interfering with oxygen delivery. Too loose (large base arc): If the base arc is larger than your eyeball, the lens tends to slide inside the eye, creating a foreign body sensation when you blink, or even shifting. What is water content? Moisture content is the percentage by weight of water in a contact lens. It determines the softness of the lens and the ability of oxygen to reach the eye through the lens. High water content (>50%): The lenses are softer and very comfortable to wear for the first time. However, in order to maintain their shape, they absorb tears from the eye, which can lead to dry eyes after prolonged wear. Low Water Content (<40%): Lenses mold well. Since they have less water of their own, they are less prone to water evaporation and are usually more suitable for dry eye users or those who need to wear them for long periods of time. DIA (Total Lens Diameter) - DIA is the total width of a contact lens from edge to edge. This is a functional parameter designed to ensure that the lens covers the cornea correctly and remains centered for comfortable wear. G.DIA (lens tinting diameter) - G.DIA is the diameter of the colored or patterned portion of the lens. This is the key value that determines the “big eye effect”. Even if the total diameter (DIA) of both lenses is the same, the larger the coloring diameter (G.DIA), the more pronounced the visual dilation effect. Our colored contact lenses are made from high quality contact lens materials such as HEMA (Hydroxyethyl Methacrylate) or Silicone Hydrogel. These materials are soft, oxygen permeable and comfortable, helping to keep the eyes moisturized and reduce discomfort during prolonged wear. Our lenses are produced by specialized manufacturers that meet international quality standards and undergo a rigorous quality testing process to ensure product safety and stability. Colored contact lenses are usually safe as long as they are used in accordance with proper wearing and care practices.
Step 1: Clean your hands thoroughly. Use a moisturizer-free hand sanitizer and dry your hands with a lint-free towel or dryer. Step 2: Prepare your eyes by blinking to produce tears and keep them moist. Look upward and gently pull down your lower eyelid with the middle finger of one hand. Step 3 Move the lens. Approach the eye slowly with your index finger. Gently touch the lower edge of the lens and slide it to the white part of the eye. This ensures that the lens does not press against the cornea, thus minimizing damage. NOTE: Avoid pinching the lens directly from the cornea as this may cause damage to the corneal epithelium, especially if the lens is dry and tight. Step 4 Remove the lens. Remove the lens by gently pinching the edge of the lens with your index finger and thumb and squeezing towards the center.
